At Counseling for Peace, Regardless, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is more than a trauma treatment—it’s a way to help your brain and body find balance again.
Julie Norman is a Certified EMDR Therapist who uses this evidence-based method to help clients process painful memories, reduce triggers, and regain a sense of calm and control. EMDR works by engaging both sides of the brain through gentle, rhythmic stimulation—helping you reprocess distressing experiences so they lose their emotional charge.
While EMDR is widely known for its success in treating trauma and PTSD, Julie also uses it as a resourcing tool—to strengthen internal coping systems, install confidence, and prepare clients for predictable future challenges such as medical procedures, difficult conversations, public speaking, or relational stress.
Each session is carefully paced and collaborative. You remain in control of the process, supported by grounding, visualization, and somatic awareness techniques to ensure emotional safety.
Whether you’re healing from trauma or learning to respond to life’s stressors with greater clarity and calm, EMDR offers a pathway to integration—a way for your mind and body to remember that you are safe, capable, and whole.

Phases of EMDR
Julie uses EMDR-informed resourcing to help professionals, partners, and performers develop emotional steadiness, mental clarity, and confidence under pressure.
This approach blends the neuroscience of EMDR with coaching, mindfulness, and somatic awareness. Through rhythmic bilateral stimulation and guided imagery, clients learn to activate calm, focus, and self-trust—even in situations that previously triggered anxiety, self-doubt, or shutdown.
These sessions are especially effective for:
EMDR-informed resourcing helps you train your nervous system to respond rather than react—transforming preparation into embodiment and self-leadership.
